Inside the follower industry

The Instagram growth industry is worth millions, yet it remains one of the most opaque markets on the internet. For every legitimate marketing agency, there are ten scam sites ready to take your money and deliver nothing but ghost accounts.

The Password Scam

If a service asks for your Instagram password, run. Historically, these services used "follow/unfollow" automation bots logging into your account. In 2026, giving a third-party app your password is a guaranteed way to get your account locked or permanently banned by Meta's security protocols.

How Legit Services Actually Work

Top-tier services don't need your password. They operate externally. By leveraging massive ad networks, influencer shoutouts, and high-traffic app ecosystems, they direct real users to your public profile. This is identical to running a Meta Ad, but often far more cost-effective.

Red Flags to Watch Out For

• "Instant Delivery" of Thousands: Real growth takes time. Delivering 10,000 followers in five minutes is a physical impossibility for human accounts.
• No Refund Policy: If they won't guarantee their work, they know their retention rate is zero.
• Zero Contact Info: Anonymous sellers disappear as soon as Instagram purges their bot networks.
